Whilst discussions were going on about home educating our grandchildren, Paul and I embarked on a little experiment. During the spring half term break we took Lillian, Harry and Joey on several outings to see if and how they would adapt to non school learning. They were sometimes joined by the other children, and their mums and dads, in the family. Our very first outing was with the two boys and their cousin Jessica as Lillian was dancing that day. We took them to Southwell Workhouse and the Minster, which they all thoroughly enjoyed. We followed up with family trips to Crich Tramways Museum for their Wartime Weekend, Go Ape at Sherwood Pines and a Viking Day, again at Sherwood Pines.
